Davante Adams is out of COVID-19 protocols and will return Sunday for the Green Bay Packers, giving quarterback Jordan Love a key weapon at wide receiver.

Adams has been cleared to play Sunday at the Kansas City Chiefs — just as quarterback Aaron Rodgers went on the reserve/COVID-19 list. It will be the first career start for Love, who has seven career pass attempts.

Also set to return for Green Bay is defensive coordinator Joe Barry, who missed last week’s win over the Arizona Cardinals after a positive COVID-19 test. Adams also missed the contest.

“It’s great to see those guys,” coach Matt LaFleur said Thursday. “They’re fired up to be back. It’s a huge benefit to this team.”

Adams, a four-time Pro Bowl selection and 2020 All-Pro, is having another stellar season in 2021, posting 52 receptions for 744 yards and three touchdowns in seven games.

Adams has 598 catches for 7,312 yards and 65 touchdowns in 107 games (100 starts) since the Packers drafted him in the second round in 2014 out of Fresno State.
