Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack is questionable to play Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams because of a back injury, the team announced Saturday.
Mack did not practice Friday and took part in limited drills Saturday. Earlier this week, Bears head coach Matt Nagy expressed optimism that Mack could play in the prime-time matchup.
In six games this season, Mack has 4 1/2 sacks, a fumble recovery and six tackles for losses. The five-time Pro Bowl defender is in his third season with Chicago, which is off to a 5-1 start thanks largely to its defense.
The Bears listed four other players as questionable: defensive backs Buster Skrine (ankle) and Deon Bush (hamstring), and offensive linemen Jason Spriggs (thumb, back) and Rashaad Coward (finger). The team also ruled out defensive back Sherrick McManis because of a hamstring injury.
