Veteran guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a three-year, $66 million deal with the Orlando Magic, multiple media outlets reported Sunday.

The third year of the contract is reportedly a player option.

Caldwell-Pope spent the past two seasons with the Nuggets and was a starter when Denver won the 2023 NBA Finals. He was also part of the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2020 championship team.

Caldwell-Pope, 31, averaged 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals in 76 games (all starts) for Denver last season. He shot 40.6 percent from 3-point range and is known for his defensive prowess.

Caldwell-Pope has career averages of 11.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 835 games (693 starts) across 11 seasons with the Detroit Pistons (2013-17), Lakers (2017-21), Washington Wizards (2021-22) and Nuggets. He has knocked down 1,420 3-pointers.

The Nuggets need backcourt help after the departure of Caldwell-Pope, and Los Angeles Clippers guard Russell Westbrook is one of the players the team reportedly has interest in.
