NEW YORK — After adding University of Kentucky forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns with the first overall pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves added Duke guard Tyus Jones by acquiring his rights from the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second trade to be officially announced on draft night.

The Timberwolves sent the 31st overall pick, swingman Cedi Osman of Macedonia, and forward-center Rakeem Christmas, who was the 36th selection from Syracuse. Minnesota also will send a future second-round pick to the Cavaliers.

Jones was the third member of Duke’s national championship team picked after Philadelphia picked center Jahlil Okafor with the third pick and Miami selected forward Justise Winslow at No. 10.
