The Cincinnati Reds traded closer Raisel Iglesias and cash to the Los Angeles Angels for relief pitcher Noe Ramirez and a player to be named, both clubs announced Monday.

Iglesias, a 30-year-old right-hander, made 22 appearances for the Reds last season and compiled a 4-3 record with eight saves. Iglesias has totaled 274 career games in six seasons with Cincinnati. He has pitched exclusively in relief since June 2016 and is one of five major leaguers to compile 100 saves since 2017.

Ramirez, 30, was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the fourth round of the June 2011 draft. The Angels claimed the right-hander off waivers in August 2017. He has a career ERA of 4.18 in eight starts and 176 relief appearances. He went 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in 21 games last season.

The move is a money-saving one for the Reds. Iglesias is set to make $9.125 million this season before hitting free agency. Ramirez will make just over $1 million this season in his first of three arbitration-eligible years.
