The Los Angeles Angels acquired 2021 World Series MVP Jorge Soler from the Atlanta Braves on Thursday in exchange for right-hander Griffin Canning.

Soler, 32, batted .241 with 34 doubles, 21 homers, 64 RBIs and 84 runs in 142 games split between the San Francisco Giants and Braves this past season.

Atlanta acquired the outfielder/designated hitter from San Francisco on July 30 as part of a four-player trade.

In 11 major league seasons with the Cubs, Kansas City Royals, Marlins, Giants and Braves, Soler has a career .243/.331/.464 batting line with 191 homers and 516 RBIs in 1,012 games.

In the 2021 World Series against the Houston Astros, Soler hit .300 for the Braves with three homers and six RBIs.

Canning, 28, posted a 6-13 record with a 5.19 ERA in 32 games (31 starts) last seasons for the Angels.

He is 25-34 with a 4.78 ERA in 99 career appearances (94 starts) for Los Angeles since being drafted in the second round in 2017. Canning won a Gold Glove award in 2020.
