The New York Yankees activated first baseman Luke Voit from the 10-day injured list ahead of Saturday’s home game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Voit was sidelined by an abdominal strain.
The 28-year-old is batting .280 with a career-high 17 homers and 50 RBIs in 78 games this season.
In a corresponding move, the Yankees optioned infielder Breyvic Valera to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after Friday’s 4-0 win over the Blue Jays.
