The New York Yankees placed first baseman Luke Voit on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with an abdominal strain.
Voit, 28, is batting .280 with a career-high 17 homers and 50 RBIs in 78 games this season.
The move is retroactive to Sunday, meaning he could be activated when the Yankees return to action after the All-Star break on July 12.
New York announced three other roster moves.
Right-hander Chance Adams was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, while left-hander Nestor Cortes Jr. and first baseman Mike Ford were both recalled from Triple-A.
Adams has appeared in four games for the Yankees, posting a 1-0 record with a 6.75 ERA and a save in 12 innings.
In previous stints with the Yankees, Cortes is 3-0 but has given up 17 earned runs in 29 1/3 innings (5.22 ERA) while striking out 31.
Ford has 28 official at-bats in the big leagues this season, batting .179 with a home run and two RBIs.
