Wisconsin lost another offensive weapon Monday as wide receiver Quintez Cephus declared he is entering the 2020 NFL Draft.
Cephus caught 59 passes for 901 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games as a junior in 2019. He caught seven passes for 59 yards and a score in the 28-27 loss to Oregon in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.
“I’m excited to put my name in for the draft and to have a chance to play at the highest level,” Cephus posted on Instagram.
Record-setting running back Jonathan Taylor announced on Friday that he also will skip his final season with the Badgers.
In three seasons in Madison, the 6-foot-1, 207-pounder appeared in 37 games and tallied 93 catches for 1,496 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Cephus missed the final four games of the 2017 season with a broken right leg. He did not play at all in 2018 after being expelled following sexual assault charges. He was acquitted by a jury in August and reinstated ahead of the 2019 season.
