The Chicago White Sox placed third baseman Yoan Moncada on the 10-day injured list because of a strained right hamstring.
Moncada left Tuesday night’s game against the New York Mets with hamstring tightness. The 24-year-old is batting .301 with 20 home runs and 59 RBIs.
In a corresponding move, the White Sox recalled outfielder Ryan Cordell from Triple-A Charlotte.
Cordell, 27, already has played in 69 games with Chicago this season, batting .234 with five home runs, 18 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
