Los Angeles Angels teammates Mike Trout and Tommy La Stella are wearing No. 45 in honor of the late Tyler Skaggs at the 2019 All-Star Game.
Skaggs died July 1 in his hotel room in Southlake, Texas as the Angels arrived for a series against the Rangers. He was 27. The cause of death has not been revealed.
Trout is batting third and playing center field for the American League. La Stella is unable to play due to a broken tibia, but was introduced in pregame ceremonies as he took the field with crutches.
All the All-Stars are wearing a No. 45 patch on their jerseys honoring Skaggs.
