Texas RB Ingram to miss West Virginia game

Texas junior running back Keaontay Ingram could miss multiple games due to a high-ankle sprain, Longhorns coach Tom Herman said Tuesday.

Ingram was ruled out of Saturday’s contest against West Virginia. He suffered the injury during last week’s 41-34 victory over Oklahoma State.

“It does not require surgery, but he’s gonna be out a few weeks,” Herman said of Ingram.

Ingram has rushed for 250 yards this season, second behind quarterback Sam Ehlinger (284).

Ingram led Texas with 853 rushing yards last season and was second with 708 in 2018.

Sophomore Roschon Johnson (192) and freshman Bijan Robinson (181) will share the workload against West Virginia.

The Longhorns (4-2, 3-2 Big 12) have a bye following the West Virginia game and then visit Kansas on Nov. 21.
