Texans close facility due to COVID concerns

Due to concerns about a COVID-19 outbreak, the Houston Texans closed the team facility Thursday for the second time in 10 days.

“We were informed (Wednesday) night that a Texans player has tested positive for COVID-19. In consultation with the NFL and medical experts, we have made the decision to close the facility and conduct all operations virtually today,” the Texans said in a statement. “The player immediately self-isolated and contact tracing has begun. We will follow the NFL’s intensive protocols and guidance regarding the team’s operations. The health and safety of our team, as well as our entire staff, are of highest priority.”

Outside linebacker Jacob Martin was placed on the COVID-19 list, according to multiple reports.

The Texans are scheduled to play at Jacksonville in a matchup of 1-6 AFC South teams on Sunday.
