The start of Saturday’s Atlantic Coast Conference game between Syracuse and Georgia Tech was delayed more than 30 minutes as Syracuse officials worked to confirm negative COVID-19 tests.
Syracuse announced the game was put on hold “out of an abundance of caution” about 10 minutes after the scheduled noon ET start at Syracuse. Kickoff was delayed until 12:37 p.m.
Syracuse tweeted that the team re-tested three players on Saturday to confirm negative results. Once all three players were cleared, the game was allowed to begin. ACC players are tested three times a week.
The Yellow Jackets are 1-1 on the season. Syracuse is 0-2.
