Steelers S DeShon Elliott (personal) questionable vs. Bengals

Pittsburgh Steelers starting safety DeShon Elliott will not travel with the team to Cincinnati and is questionable to play against the Bengals on Thursday, the team announced.

Elliott missed the team’s walkthrough due to personal reasons. He also did not participate in Tuesday’s practice, albeit for rest reasons.

Chuck Clark and Jabrill Peppers likely will see additional playing time should Elliott be unable to play on Thursday against the Bengals (2-4).

Elliott, 28, missed two games this season after sustaining a knee injury in the season opener against the New York Jets. He has 24 tackles, one interception, one sack and one forced fumble in four games this season.

The Steelers (4-1) ruled out backup strong safety and special teams captain Miles Killebrew (knee) and wide receiver Calvin Austin III (shoulder). Malik Harrison (knee), who is on the designated for return list, is questionable after turning in a limited practice on Wednesday.
