Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph returned to practice on Wednesday after suffering a concussion in Sunday’s game, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Rudolph remains in the league’s concussion protocol, but was in helmet and pads for practice.
Reports indicate that Rudolph will likely not play for Pittsburgh (1-4) when it plays the Los Angeles Chargers (2-3) this Sunday.
Rudolph appeared to be knocked unconscious when he was hit by Baltimore safety Earl Thomas in Pittsburgh’s overtime loss to the Ravens on Sunday, and needed assistance from trainers and teammates while walking off the field.
He was replaced in the game by Devlin Hodges, the undrafted free agent quarterback who completed 7 of 9 passes for 68 yards and ran the ball twice for 20 yards in his NFL debut.
Rudolph has passed for 646 yards and seven touchdowns along with two interceptions since replacing injured Ben Roethlisberger.
