Stanford QB Costello to miss Oregon State game

Stanford quarterback K.J. Costello will miss Saturday’s game against Oregon State due to a hand injury, the school announced Friday.

The game will be the second Costello has missed this season. He also sat out against Southern California on Sept. 7 due to a head injury suffered in the season-opening game against Northwestern.

Junior Davis Mills will make his second career start. He completed 22 of 36 passes for 237 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the 45-20 loss to USC.

Overall, Mills has 352 yards, one touchdown and one interception in three games for Stanford, which is averaging just 17.5 points. The Cardinal (1-3, 0-2 Pac-12) have dropped three consecutive games.

Costello has passed for 471 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions this season. In 27 career games, he has thrown for 5,584 yards, 45 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
