Sooners land commitment from five-star WR Williams

Top-ranked wide receiver Mario Williams committed to Oklahoma’s 2021 recruiting class on Friday.

He is the No. 1-ranked wideout in his class and No. 16 overall in the ESPN 300. The 247Sports Composite ranked Williams as the No. 4 receiver and No. 40 nationally.

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect from Plant City, Fla., chose the Sooners over a host of suitors that included Alabama, Clemson, LSU and Texas.

Williams tallied 1,745 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns over the last two seasons at Plant City High School.
