The New Orleans Saints announced signed kicker Aldrick Rosas and safety Jeff Heath on Saturday.
In corresponding moves, the team waived tight end Josh Pederson and placed wide receiver/returner Tommylee Lewis on injured reserve.
Rosas, 26, spent the 2020 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars after three seasons with the New York Giants. The Giants released him in July 2020, six weeks after he was involved in a hit-and-run collision in California and charged with three misdemeanors. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2018.
In his career, Rosas has appeared in 54 games and converted 81.4 percent (70 of 86) of his field goal attempts and 92.2 percent of his extra points. In six games with the Jaguars, he connected on 8 of 11 field goals with a long of 54 yards and all nine extra-point tries.
Heath, 30, is entering his ninth NFL season after seven seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (2013-19) and one with the Las Vegas Raiders (2020). In 119 regular-season games, he has 361 tackles, 11 interceptions, 28 passes defensed, five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. With Las Vegas, he appeared in 13 games (five starts) and made 35 tackles and added three interceptions and four passes defensed.
Pederson is the son of former Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson.
