The Seattle Seahawks are set to release little-used Luke Willson after activating rookie tight Colby Parkinson, multiple outlets reported Tuesday.
The move comes to alleviate a logjam at the position with the activation of Parkinson from the non-football injury list.
Willson had played just 10 offensive snaps in five games behind Greg Olsen, Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister. He has also played on special teams.
Willson, 30, has played in 99 games (52 starts) with the Seahawks, who drafted him in the fifth round of the 2013 draft, and Detroit Lions (2018). He has 110 catches for 1,295 yards and 11 touchdowns in his career.
Parkinson broke a bone in his foot during a June workout. The Seahawks drafted the TE in the fourth round of this year’s draft out of Stanford.
