Report: Steelers WR James Washington seeking trade

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington reportedly is seeking a trade.

A source told ESPN on Friday that the former second-round draft pick is unhappy with his limited playing time in 2020 and so far in the preseason.

Washington, 25, was targeted twice and did not catch a pass during Thursday night’s 16-3 win against the Dallas Cowboys in the Hall of Fame Game.

He caught 30 of his 56 targets for 392 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games (seven starts) in the 2020 season. He finished fifth on the team in targets, fifth in receiving yards and sixth in catches.

Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Washington has 90 receptions for 1,344 yards and nine scores since the Steelers selected him with the 60th overall pick in 2018.
