Report: Saints re-sign DE Carl Granderson, DT Jalen Dalton

The New Orleans Saints have re-signed defensive end Carl Granderson and defensive tackle Jalen Dalton, ESPN reported Thursday.

Granderson, 25, has been an effective backup for Cameron Jordan and Marcus Davenport. Undrafted out of Wyoming in 2019, he has nine sacks, 19 quarterback hits and 50 tackles in 38 career games (three starts).

Granderson signed a two-year deal. Due to make $965,000 in 2022 as an exclusive rights free agent, he reportedly will receive an additional $4.3 million over the two years. That includes a $240,000 signing bonus.

Dalton, 24, has yet to appear in an NFL regular season game. Undrafted out of North Carolina in 2019, he missed both the 2020 and 2021 seasons with triceps injuries.
