Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is expected to play in Sunday’s NFC wild-card game against the Seattle Seahawks, ESPN reported Saturday.
Ertz is dealing with a rib injury and lacerated kidney that he suffered on the opening drive of the Eagles’ Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He is listed as questionable on the team’s injury report.
Ertz, already named to his third straight Pro Bowl squad this season, was a limited practice participant all week. He is expected to wear protective padding in the game against Seattle.
Ertz led the team with 88 receptions for 916 yards and six touchdowns in 15 regular-season games.
Eagles two-time Pro Bowl right tackle Lane Johnson (sprained ankle) is questionable despite missing Friday’s practice. Receiver Nelson Agholor (knee) will miss the game.
Offensive tackle Duane Brown (knee, biceps), linebacker Mychal Kendricks (knee) and receiver Malik Turner (concussion) will not play in the game for the Seahawks. Guard Mike Iupati (neck) and receiver Jaron Brown (knee) are listed as questionable.
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (core muscle) and safety Quandre Diggs (ankle) are slated to play. Clowney returned to action in the Seahawks’ season finale against San Francisco after being sidelined for the two previous games. Diggs missed the final two regular-season contests.
