Report: Dolphins TE Shaheen to sign two-year extension

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen has come to terms on a two-year contract extension worth $7.85 million with $3.2 million guaranteed, ESPN reported on Wednesday.

Shaheen is starting to pay dividends for the Dolphins since being acquired from the Chicago Bears in July for a conditional 2021 seventh-round pick.

Shaheen, 26, has recorded a touchdown reception in each of the past two games for the Dolphins (3-3). He has reeled in five of his seven targets this season for 58 yards, with a career-high 51 of those coming in Miami’s 24-0 victory over the New York Jets on Oct. 18.

Shaheen has 31 catches for 307 yards and six touchdowns in 33 career games with the Bears and Dolphins. He was selected by Chicago in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
