Report: Bears LB Khalil Mack out Sunday, maybe longer

The Chicago Bears will rest Pro Bowl linebacker Khalil Mack for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers as he continues to deal with a foot injury he suffered in Week 3, NFL Network is reporting.

The team is also considering adding him to injured reserve, which would keep him out a minimum of three games.

Mack has started all seven games for the Bears (3-4) this season, recording six sacks and 19 tackles.

Mack failed to record a sack for just the second time this season in a blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Mack, 30, has started every game in six of the previous seven seasons dating back to his rookie season. He played in 14 games (13 starts) in 2018.

The Bears listed the three-time All-Pro as doubtful on the latest injury report.
