Report: Arizona State hiring Marvin Lewis as adviser

Arizona State football coach Herm Edwards is hiring former Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis as a special adviser, Fox Sports reported Tuesday.

Lewis, 60, compiled a 131-122-3 record in 16 seasons with the Bengals. He has a home in Phoenix.

After parting ways with Cincinnati at the end of the 2018 season, Lewis briefly worked as a broadcaster for the short-lived Alliance of American Football.

His previous collegiate experience includes coaching the linebackers at Idaho State (1981-84), Long Beach State (1985-86), New Mexico (1987-89) and Pitt (1990-91).

Edwards, the former New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs head coach, guided the Sun Devils to a 7-6 record and a berth in the Las Vegas Bowl in his first season in Tempe in 2018.
