The Tampa Bay Rays activated third baseman Yandy Diaz from the 60-day injured list Sunday.
Diaz has not played since July 22, when he sustained a hairline fracture after fouling a ball off his left foot.
The 28-year-old is batting .270 with 14 homers and 38 RBIs in 78 games this season.
The Rays wrap up the regular season Sunday at Toronto and will face the host Oakland Athletics in the American League wild-card game Wednesday.
In a corresponding move, Tampa Bay designated right-hander Cole Sulser for assignment.
Sulser, 29, appeared in seven games out of the bullpen and did not allow a run. He struck out nine and walked three in 7 1/3 innings.
