Ravens place DT Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) on IR

The Baltimore Ravens placed two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike on injured reserve, while defensive lineman Broderick Washington Jr. also was placed on IR on Saturday.

Madubuike already had been ruled out for Sunday’s road game against the Kansas City Chiefs because of a neck injury. The 27-year-old was injured in a victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 14 and did not play Monday against the Detroit Lions.

Madubuike had seven tackles, including two sacks and three quarterback hits, in the first two games.

He has 203 career tackles, 30 sacks, 69 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles in 78 regular-season games (66 starts) and an additional 25 tackles and three sacks in seven postseason games (five starts).

Washington, 28, has been dealing with an ankle injury. He has four tackles in three games (one start) this season. In six seasons with the Ravens, he has 110 tackles and a forced fumble in 73 games (22 starts)

To counter the injuries, the Ravens signed defensive end Brent Urban and tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden to the active roster, while defensive tackle C.J. Okoye and nose tackle Josh Tupou were elevated from the practice squad.

Urban, 34, participated in 25 snaps on defense and four on special teams during Monday’s loss to the Lions. Mitchell-Paden, 26, does not have a reception in 44 offensive snaps over three games for the Ravens this season.
