Texas Rangers outfielder/designated hitter Shin-Soo Choo recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder, the team confirmed on Friday.
Choo underwent the procedure last week. The 37-year-old is expected to be recovered in six to eight weeks.
“Choo had his left AC joint scoped last week,” Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said in a statement. “It’s a relatively minor procedure with a timeline our medical staff believes will allow him to have a normal offseason. We expect he’ll be 100 percent before spring training.”
The left-handed South Korean smacked a career-best 24 homers last season. He batted .265 with 61 RBIs in 151 games.
Choo is entering the final season of a seven-year, $130 million deal. He will earn $21 million in 2020.
