Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung exited Wednesday afternoon’s game against the Cincinnati Reds after being hit in the left hand by a fastball from Graham Ashcraft.
Jung was hit by the pitch in the second inning. He was replaced in the third by Ezequiel Duran.
Initial reports said X-rays were negative and that Jung has a contusion.
Jung, 25, is batting .281 with five homers and 16 RBIs in 23 games this season.
He is batting .241 with 10 homers and 30 RBIs in 49 career games with the Rangers.
