New England Patriots receivers Kendrick Bourne (knee) and DeVante Parker (head) departed Sunday’s game against the host Miami Dolphins and were ruled out.
Bourne will reportedly undergo an MRI exam on Monday to determine the severity of his right knee injury.
Bourne went down on the first play of the fourth quarter and grabbed his knee after Eli Apple tackled him along the sideline. Bourne was able to walk off the field and was soon ruled out.
Bourne had three catches for 36 yards and a touchdown. The seven-year veteran is the Patriots’ leading receiver with 37 catches for 406 yards and four touchdowns.
“I have a lot of love for KB. I hope he’s OK,” Patriots quarterback Mac Jones said afterward. “I didn’t see him in there. Off the field, he’s one of my best friends, honestly. I have a lot of respect for him, his family and everybody.”
Parker was the recipient of a helmet-to-helmet hit by Dolphins safety DeShon Elliott when attempting to catch a pass from Jones. He left the game with 6:21 left in the third quarter and was quickly ruled out of the game.
Elliott was not called for a penalty.
Parker had one reception for 14 yards. On the season, the ninth-year pro has 15 receptions for 158 yards. He spent his first seven seasons with the Dolphins before playing the past two for the Patriots.
Earlier in the game, New England linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
