Police arrested New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones at Boston’s Logan International Airport on Friday after two firearms were found in his carry-on luggage.
Massachusetts State Police charged Jones with two counts each of possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport, possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.
Jones, 25, was booked at the state police barracks at the airport, with bail set at $50,000. His arraignment will be next week in East Boston District Court.
“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today,” the Patriots said in a statement. “We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time.”
A fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Jones appeared in 13 games (two starts) as a rookie last season and had 30 tackles, two interceptions, six passes defensed and one fumble recovery.
He returned an interception against Aaron Rodgers 40 yards for a touchdown in New England’s 27-24 overtime loss at Green Bay in Week 4.
