Panthers activate WR Jalen Coker, OL Austin Corbett from IR

The Carolina Panthers activated wide receiver Jalen Coker and offensive lineman Austin Corbett from injured reserve on Saturday.

Both players are available to play for the Panthers (3-3) in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.(0-6) in East Rutherford, N.J.

Coker, 23, has been sidelined since sustaining a quadriceps injury during practice prior to the season opener.

He played in 11 games (four starts) as a rookie last season and caught 32 of 46 targets for 478 yards and two touchdowns.

Corbett, 30, sustained a left knee injury during Carolina’s 27-22 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 14.

He could draw into the lineup on Sunday should left guard Damien Lewis sit out due to a shoulder injury. Head coach Dave Canales referred to Lewis as a game-time decision for Sunday’s contest.

A Super Bowl champion with the Rams, Corbett has started 69 of the 83 games in which he has played for the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles and the Panthers.

Also on Saturday, the Panthers placed defensive end Patrick Jones II on injured reserve. He suffered a back injury last week that will require season-ending surgery.

Jones, 27, has nine tackles and one sack in four games (all starts) this season.

He has totaled 114 tackles, 13 sacks and one forced fumble in 61 career games (nine starts) with the Minnesota Vikings (2021-24) and the Panthers.
