Key Points:
- The Packers’ Week 9 loss to the Panthers caused a major drop in Super Bowl odds.
 - ESPN’s Bill Barnwell reported Green Bay’s championship chances fell from 11% to just over six percent.
 - With a crucial Monday Night Football matchup ahead, the Packers aim to rebound quickly.

The Green Bay Packers dropped to 5-2-1 on Sunday, losing a Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. It was a major upset, as Green Bay entered the game as 13.5-point favorites, according to ESPN BET.
It was one of the worst games of the season for quarterback Jordan Love, completing 26-of-37 passes for 273 yards, zero touchdowns, one interception and an 80.1 passer rating. The Packers’ two losses this season now come against the Panthers and the Cleveland Browns, with a tie to the Dallas Cowboys.
To make matters worse, it was confirmed on Monday that third-year tight end Tucker Kraft suffered a torn ACL, ruling him out for the rest of the season. Of course, going into the 2025 season, the ultimate goal for every team is to win the Super Bowl.
After losing to the Panthers, though, the Packers’ chances of winning it all took a significant dip. According to ESPN’s Bill Barnwell, Green Bay’s chances of winning the Super Bowl going into Week 9 were 11%, but dropped to 6.1% following the loss.
“I wouldn’t blame anyone for characterizing Sunday’s loss as a team impudently looking past a lesser opponent in a game everybody expected it to win,” Barnwell wrote. “Lose to a .500 Panthers team at home as the potential top seed in the NFC, and you’re going to attract those sorts of headlines.”

The Road Ahead For The Packers
A Super Bowl win remains the top priority, though, and Green Bay has nine regular-season games remaining with several tough opponents ahead. That includes a Week 10 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on “Monday Night Football.”
The Packers still have five of their six NFC North games as well, playing the Minnesota Vikings twice, the Chicago Bears twice, and the Detroit Lions once. They still control their own destiny, though, sitting in first place in the division and holding the No. 4 seed in the NFC.
A win over the Eagles, the NFC’s No. 1 seed, would be a big boost in the right direction. It’s a home matchup at Lambeau Field, with ESPN BET placing the Packers as 2.5-point favorites.
