Key Points:
- Four-star defensive lineman Donivan Moore visited Oxford and praised the electric atmosphere at Ole Miss.
- Moore described Lane Kiffin’s staff as “player friendly” while still maintaining strong team discipline and focus.
- With continued recruiting momentum, Ole Miss looks poised to build one of its strongest defensive classes yet.
Led by head coach Lane Kiffin, the Ole Miss Rebels have established themselves as one of the top teams in 2025. In the College Football Playoff committee’s first rankings, the Rebels earned the No. 6 spot.
Though Ole Miss may be focused on competing for a national championship right now, Kiffin keeps his eye on the future. The head coach and the rest of his staff are making strong impressions on some of high school’s top recruits. That includes class of 2027 defensive lineman Donivan Moore.
He’s one of the most sought-after players in the 2027 cycle, listed as a four-star prospect, the No. 5 defensive lineman and the No. 73 player in the nation by Rivals Industry Rankings. He’s shown interest in the Rebels, taking a visit to Oxford, Mississippi, to watch Ole Miss defeat the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week 10.
He recently spoke to Rivals’ vice president of recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, revealing some insight into the experience.
“I loved everything about Ole Miss,” Moore said. “The atmosphere was amazing, the crowd and the fan base is really into the game.”
“Coach Kiffin and his staff seem very player friendly,” he added. “But you can still tell they’re disciplined.”

However, Ole Miss isn’t alone in the fight for Moore. The defensive lineman also has scholarship offers from powerhouses such as the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Ohio State Buckeyes.
How Moore Would Add to Ole Miss’ Recruiting Class
Kiffin has been very busy putting together a strong 2027 cycle for the Rebels, already receiving five commitments, ranking No. 5 in the SEC and No. 8 in the nation.
However, if Moore commits, he would immediately become the top player in the class. He would jump four-star defensive lineman Jamarkus Pittman, who is just one spot below Moore as the nation’s No. 74 player.
If Kiffin and his staff can keep the momentum going and build on the team’s on-field success, they will continue to become one of the most intriguing destinations for any high school recruit.
