No. 5 Oklahoma lost starting linebacker Jon-Michael Terry for the rest of the season with an unspecified lower-leg injury.
The 6-3, 230-pound junior sustained the injury during practice ahead of last Saturday’s 52-14 win against West Virginia, according to Sooners coach Lincoln Riley.
Riley described it as a non-contact injury that will require surgery to repair.
Terry started the first six games this season, tallying 16 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two quarterback hits.
Redshirt freshman Nik Bonitto started the victory over the Mountaineers in his absence and will likely remain in that role Saturday when Oklahoma (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) plays at Kansas State (4-2, 1-2).
