The Notre Dame Fighting Irish picked up a dominant 49-10 Week 11 win over the Navy Midshipmen. Quarterback CJ Carr was impressive, throwing for 218 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Running back Jeremiyah Love was also great, having 94 rushing yards and two touchdowns on his own.
It was a full-team effort that helped the Fighting Irish advance to 7-2, with hopes of once again making the College Football Playoff after losing in the national championship last season.
Marcus Freeman’s squad was also able to pick up the win in front of several highly touted recruits. That includes class of 2027 cornerback Xavier Hasan out of Raleigh, North Carolina. Rivals places him as a four-star recruit, the No. 4 cornerback and the No. 27 player in the nation. He holds offers from Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Miami, Ohio State and South Carolina, meaning it’s a high-level battle for his commitment.
However, none of those other teams may soon matter because on Sunday, Rivals’ vice president of recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, logged an expert prediction for Hasan to commit to the Fighting Irish.

That doesn’t come as a major surprise, because after the game, Hasan spoke to Wiltfong, praising the experience in South Bend.
“It was amazing,” Hasan said. “The game was great especially when it started snowing. The more I comeback it feels more like home. What really stands out to me is how genuine the staff are and how much they care about their guys. The tradition and the atmosphere at Notre Dame is different. It just feels like a place where you can grow on and off the field. It’s special.”
How Hasan Xavier Would Fit Into Notre Dame’s 2027 Cycle
While chasing a national championship, Freeman has been busy assembling a strong 2027 recruiting class. The Fighting Irish have already landed five commitments, ranking No. 11 in the nation.
Hasan has the potential to become just the third defender, joining four-star linebacker Ellis McGaskin and three-star defensive lineman Richie Flanigan.
He could also become the highest-ranked player in the class, immediately surpassing four-star quarterback Teddy Jarrard, who is the No. 79 player in the nation according to Rivals.
With Notre Dame looking to secure a top-15 recruiting class for the seventh-straight cycle, Hasan would be a big boost in the right direction.
