Notre Dame OL Kraemer (knee) out 4-6 weeks

Notre Dame senior right guard Tommy Kraemer sprained his MCL in Saturday’s loss to Michigan and will out four-to-six weeks, coach Brian Kelly said Monday.

No surgery is necessary, Kelly said.

The most optimistic timetable would put Kraemer, the Fighting Irish’s most experienced lineman, back on the field for the final game of the regular season at Stanford on Nov. 30.

Kraemer, who has one season of eligibility remaining, has started all seven games this season and 29 in his career, including 13 at right tackle. He was chosen to the Associated Press’ second-team midseason All-American team.

No. 16 Notre Dame (5-2) hosts Virginia Tech (5-2) this week and doesn’t have a ranked team left on its schedule.
