Northwestern lands sought-after 2021 DE Story

Four-star defensive end prospect Najee Story announced his commitment to Northwestern on Sunday.

The 247Sports composite ranks Story as the No. 18 strongside defensive end prospect in the Class of 2021, but he was coveted by a number of Power Five programs. He had the Wildcats in his top five along with home-state Ohio State, Penn State, Minnesota and Tennessee.

He made his announcement on Twitter.

He wrote, in part, “My recruiting process has been a long journey full of twists and turns, but I’m excited to finally announce that I’m committing to Northwestern university to continue my athletic and academic career!!”

Academics seemingly played a big role for the 6-foot-4, 235-pound player from Solon, Ohio, in his selection of Northwestern.

“One of the best academic institutions in the country and I love how they don’t sacrifice playing big-time football for that either,” Story told 247Sports recently.
