Nationals starter Joe Ross left Washington’s game Monday at Pittsburgh in the fourth inning after getting hit in the right leg by a comebacker.
Pirates slugger Josh Bell’s grounder struck Ross.
The 26-year-old right-hander left after allowing three hits in 3 1/3 innings. Washington led 11-0.
In four starts this month, Ross has allowed one run in 21 1/3 innings (0.42 ERA).
