The Washington Nationals have reinstated infielder Howie Kendrick from the injured list, the team announced Thursday.
The Nats optioned infielder Jake Noll to Triple-A Fresno to make room for Kendrick on the active roster.
Kendrick, 35, missed the first five games of the season with a left hamstring strain suffered March 5.
Kendrick is making his way back from an Achilles rupture that ended his 2018 season after 40 games last May. Kendrick was hitting .303 with 14 doubles, four homers, 12 RBIs and 17 runs scored at the time.
Primarily a second baseman, Kendrick has played outfield and first base for the Nats.
The Nationals acquired Kendrick in July 2017.
