An MRI showed a Grade 2 calf strain for Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Richard Sherman, who will miss at least a few weeks because of the injury, NFL Network reported Tuesday night.
Sherman sustained the injury while warming up for Sunday’s game against the Washington Football Team. He was set to make his fourth start since joining the team in late September.
The 33-year-old Stanford product has appeared in 142 career games, starting 136, in 10-plus seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Buccaneers. He has 36 interceptions, five forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries.
Tampa Bay has been beset by injuries in its secondary this season. Sean Murphy-Bunting (elbow), Carlton Davis (quadriceps) and Dee Delaney (concussion) all have missed time in recent weeks.
