Manny Ramirez misses baseball and sees a path to returning to the game in Taiwan.
Ramirez, who turns 48 in May, played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball and played 49 games in the Chinese Professional Baseball League in Taiwan. Ramirez played with the EDL Rhinos in 2013 and batted .352 with eight home runs and 43 RBIs.
The CPBL is comprised of five teams and is playing baseball currently, the first league to return during the coronavirus pandemic.
The league resumed April 11 without fans.
Ramirez told the Taiwan Times he wants to play this season and his return would be a boost to the league because of his popularity stemming from the 2013 season.
A 12-time All-Star, Ramirez batted .312 with 555 home runs, 1,831 RBIs and 2,574 hits with five MLB teams from 1993-2011. He won two World Series championships with the Boston Red Sox.
