Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson on Thursday missed a second consecutive practice with a non-COVID illness.
It’s the fourth practice Jackson has missed this season due to illness. He missed another two practices with a sore back.
“I think he’s feeling better,” Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman said.
Also, wide receivers Marquise Brown (thigh) and Rashod Bateman (undisclosed) were not on the practice field. Brown also missed practice Wednesday.
Jackson is expected to start Sunday when the Ravens (6-3) visit the Chicago Bears (3-6).
Jackson, 24, missed the first week of training camp after contracting COVID-19, his second bout with the virus. He missed a game on Thanksgiving Day 2020 after testing positive.
The former NFL MVP has thrown for 2,447 yards and 14 touchdowns against eight interceptions, and rushed for 639 yards and two scores in nine games this season.
Center Bradley Bozeman returned Thursday after missing Wednesday’s practice with an illness.
“I don’t really think it’s that big of a deal,” Bozeman said about Jackson’s absences. “I know Lamar is doing his things at home that he needs to do. He’s watching plays. He’s getting everything right at home. When he comes back in, he’s not going to miss a step. … I don’t see that being an issue.”
