The St. Louis Cardinals placed left-handed pitcher Kwang Hyun Kim (right lower back stiffness) and outfielder Justin Williams (neck stiffness) on the 10-day injured list.
Williams’ placement is retroactive to June 3.
The Cardinals now have 10 players on the injured list, including six pitchers.
Kim started Friday night’s 6-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds and left the game while warming up in the top of the fourth inning after he summoned a trainer from the dugout. After the game, manager Mike Shildt said Kim “jarred” something in the bottom of the third when he was running to first base, trying to beat out a ground ball.
Kim took the loss against the Reds, moving him to 1-4 with a 4.05 ERA in 40 innings pitched this season.
Williams, 25, has seen increased playing time because of injuries in the St. Louis outfield. In 51 games, he is batting .160 (19-for-119) with four home runs and 11 RBIs.
In corresponding moves, St. Louis recalled right-handed pitcher Angel Rondon and first baseman/outfielder John Nogowski from Triple-A Memphis.
Rondon, 23, who has no major league experience, appeared in five games (four starts) for Memphis this season and is 0-3 with a 5.32 ERA in 23 2/3 innings.
Nogowski started the season with the Cardinals and had one hit in 14 at-bats. In 20 games at Memphis, he hit .268 and had three home runs and 11 RBIs.
