Aggies start challenging road trip

Fresh off a thrilling 20-14 overtime win against a ranked Kentucky squad at home, the No. 22 Texas A&M Aggies (4-2, 2-1 SEC) look to take their momentum to Columbia, S.C. in Week 6 as they take on the South Carolina Gamecocks (3-2, 2-2 SEC).

Saturday’s matchup against the Gamecocks kicks off a three-game SEC road trip for the Aggies that will test Texas A&M’s mettle.

“I think they set that up or knew I was coming or set that up or something,” Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher said on the Paul Finebaum show. “You go on the road to South Carolina, you on the road to Mississippi State that’s a great team, you go on the road to Auburn. That’s very, very difficult, but you know that’s part of it.”

Fisher will again face off against a former colleague as he squares off against South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp — both were assistants at LSU under Nick Saban.

“Will is a great coach. He’s one of the best defensive minds in college football — always has been,” Fisher told Finebaum. “Does a great job as a head coach. He was at Florida when we went against each other. Had some outstanding teams. Of course, all the practices we used to go at it. Will, he’s a good friend and Will does a great job.”

Kickoff between Texas A&M and South Carolina is set for 3:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on the SEC Network.
