The Cleveland Indians recalled right-hander Cody Anderson from Triple-A Columbus in time to start Sunday’s game against the Seattle Mariners.
It will be Anderson’s first start since Sept. 24, 2016.
The 28-year-old spent some time in Cleveland earlier this year, pitching three games in relief and posting a 5.40 ERA in 5 1/3 innings. In Columbus, he has made two three-inning starts, giving up just one hit and striking out four.
To clear a roster spot, the Indians designated infielder Max Moroff for assignment.
