Key Points:
- Greg McElroy predicted Ole Miss will come out on top against Florida in Week 12.
- Ole Miss enters as heavy favorites, while Florida searches for momentum late in a tough season.
- McElroy praised Florida running back Jadan Baugh as the team’s most consistent offensive performer.
Week 12 of the 2025 college football season has arrived, and several key matchups have caught the eye of ESPN analyst Greg McElroy. That includes an SEC matchup between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Florida Gators.
Of course, it’s been two very different seasons for each of these programs. At 9-1, the Rebels earned the No. 6 spot on the College Football Playoff committee’s first rankings while having hopes of securing an SEC title and competing for a national championship. Meanwhile, Florida is 3-6, unranked and playing its third game since firing head coach Billy Napier.
After losing their last two games, though, the Gators have a chance to throw a wrench into Ole Miss’ season, with ESPN Bet placing them as 15.5-point underdogs. The ESPN matchup predictor also gives Florida just an 18.8% chance of winning.
In a video posted to the “Always College Football with Greg McElroy” YouTube channel, the analyst revealed he doesn’t believe an upset will happen.
“Now, prior to last week, I really liked Florida’s chances of playing the spoiler, but this week I don’t see it,” McElroy said. “I think this will be a rout in favor of the Rebels.”
A win would put Ole Miss on a four-game winning streak, with just one more regular-season game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Meanwhile, Florida would be enduring its third straight loss with matchups against the Tennessee Volunteers and Florida State Seminoles still ahead.

Greg McElroy Names Florida Offense’s “Lone Bright Spot”
Florida’s offense has struggled all year, ranking 15th in the SEC in both total yards per game (341) and points per game (20.4). However, McElroy highlighted one player’s performance throughout the year.
“The lone bright spot of Florida’s offense this year has been sophomore running back Jadan Baugh… He’s on pace to become Florida’s first 1,000-yard rusher since 2015,” McElroy said. “So they got to run the ball, and they have to shorten the game.”
Through nine games this season, the running back has 747 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He has inserted himself as a receiving threat with 27 receptions for 159 yards and one touchdown.
Baugh now has the chance to put his skill set up against one of the SEC’s best teams. Kickoff is 7 p.m. ET at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, airing on ESPN.
