Giants WR Shepard clears concussion protocol

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard has cleared concussion protocol and is eligible to return for Monday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Shepard has been sidelined for the past three games after sustaining his second concussion in four weeks on Oct. 6 against the Minnesota Vikings.

The 26-year-old has been a full participant in practice this week for the Giants (2-6), who have lost their last four games.

Shepard was New York’s leading receiver prior to the injury. He has recorded 25 catches for 267 yards and a touchdown in four games since signing a four-year, $41 million extension in the offseason.

Rookie cornerback/kick returner Corey Ballentine, 23, also cleared concussion protocol on Friday.
