5-Star QB Elijah Haven “Trending Towards” SEC Powerhouse

Key Points:

  • Five-star quarterback Elijah Haven is emerging as a top 2027 recruit, drawing major SEC and national attention.
  • Recruiting insider Steve Wiltfong reports Haven is trending toward Alabama, going into another campus visit in Tuscaloosa.
  • The talented Louisiana native plans to announce his highly anticipated college commitment on Jan. 1.

Class of 2027 quarterback Elijah Haven has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in the nation. Out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he resides in the heart of SEC country.

He’s emerging as a true star, with Rivals Industry Rankings placing him as a five-star recruit, the No. 1 quarterback, the No. 2 player in Louisiana and the No. 13 player in the nation. In nine games this season for Dunham High School, he has completed 137 of 189 passes for 2,494 yards, 41 touchdowns and three interceptions. Haven has also rushed for 401 yards and four touchdowns.

He’s generated a lot of interest, including from the Alabama Crimson Tide. According to Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong, he’ll be in Tuscaloosa to watch Alabama host the LSU Tigers, and things are starting to heat up.

“Baton Rouge (La.) Dunham School five-star quarterback Elijah Haven is coming for another Alabama home game,” Wiltfong wrote. “Coming out of the last trip, the talented dual-threat passer is trending towards the Crimson Tide.”

The quarterback would be a huge addition to Alabama’s 2027 recruiting class, which already has four commitments, ranking No. 3 in the SEC and No. 6 in the nation. However, head coach Kalen DeBoer has already landed four-star quarterback Trent Seaborn in the same cycle, making things a bit more complicated.

Elijah Haven’s Other Options

Even though the relationship between Haven and the Crimson Tide is heating up, that doesn’t mean it’s a done deal. In fact, the five-star quarterback is still being eyed by a handful of other college football powerhouses.

Other teams he has visited include the Michigan Wolverines, LSU Tigers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Auburn Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions.

As of now, the Rivals recruiting prediction machine shows it’s a two-team race between Alabama and Florida. The Crimson Tide have a 59.4% chance of landing his commitment, while the Gators are at 38.3%.

Haven still has time before making his final decision, with Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman reporting the quarterback has a commitment date set for Jan. 1.
